As a rule of thumb, stage size or performance area for a 6 piece band starts at approx 5 or 6m wide by 4 or 5m deep.
The bulk of the stage area is taken up by drums, keyboard and the guitars. We often have to fit into into small and compact spaces and are very happy to be flexible and work around your arrangements.
If you’re unsure about the space, let us have the performance area dimensions and we can advise you on your options.
We’re very open to you sending us your requests and preferences from our current repertoire list. We do however strongly advise that you leave the majority of choices up to us. We have many many years of live performance experience under our belts and we would ask you to trust us that we know what songs work and where in the sets.
Through many years of trial and error we have a number of choice favourites that we know just work really really well live (and many that have proven to be a no go). The set list will also change as the performance progresses. We’ll ‘read the room’ and choose the next song that’s most appropriate to ensure your guests remain on the dance floor. We therefore need licence to make those changes so that we can deliver the very best performance possible.
In many cases our clients choose many of the same songs that go into our set list.
We do however want to ensure that you get exactly what you want and are comfortable with what we have planned for your event. To that end we’ll arrange a phone consultation with nearer your event date to discuss the finer details of music. We’ll take the time to understand your event and what you’re trying to achieve. Off the back of that conversation we’ll go away and prepare a set list especially for your event.
We ideally need 4 hours to set up when we come with the stage, lights and sound in but can do it in 3 hours at a push. When working through your schedule for the event day please do factor in this time.
Yes we require a good quality hot meal and some soft drinks and water. We don’t however expect you to go to any unnecessary expense and provide us with a gourmet three course meal and a range of alcoholic drinks!
In the majority of cases the musicians will have spent a considerable amount of time travelling to the venue. Once there it’s all hands on deck to get the the instruments, PA and lighting system set up in a very short space of time. With so much to get through there invariably isn’t sufficient time to go ‘off site’ and look for a good quality meal.
We work long days and nights and finding a nutritious meal in a motorway service station is not fun. As a result we do ask that you supply us with a good quality meal.
It’s also worth mentioning that well fed and happy musicians goes a very long way to producing a great performance.
Opportunities to showcase bands at venues open to the public are becoming increasingly hard to come by. As a result we currently don’t have a regular live showcase that we can invite you to.
The events we perform at are for private and corporate clients. It’s therefore difficult for us to invite prospective clients along to these events. We prefer not to ‘sneak’ you in as it’s not appropriate to do so.
In some instances we may be able to ask one of our current clients if they wouldn’t mind you popping in to their event and watching the band for a short period.
All the songs the band plays have been tried and tested by the musicians over countless previous performances. When in the set a particular song is played is crucial, therefore there is significant emphasis placed of planning the set so that it builds, one song to the next. The bands ability to ‘read the room’ getting the vibe and reaction to a song and choose an appropriate song to follow plays a huge role in ensuring a full dance floor. The bands ability to change things on the fly, to adapt to the situation at hand is a key component that sets them apart from semi pro or amateur bands.
In short, yes. The band are only too happy to learn your first dance request. If you have some ideas about certain songs but are unsure if they’d work well played live by the band just email them over and we’ll get back to you with our thoughts.
If you loved watching the video and listening to the audio then you’ve got a pretty good idea of what you can expect from LOV at your own party. Our best advice? Listen to your gut. If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck…then you can be pretty sure it is.
LOV are contracted to maintain all of their equipment – so from PA, to lighting, to the vehicles the band use to get to your event, you can be sure that everything is in top working order.
You might be surprised to hear that the band have never had to make a last minute cancellation. That’s right, never. Last minute cancellations are the preserve of semi-professional or amateur bands that pull out when they can’t find a decent replacement if one of the regular musicians is ill or suddenly can’t perform. LOV by contrast are a professional band, and in the extremely unlikely event of having to find a last-minute replacement, can draw on their extensive network of professional musicians. So not only are you guaranteed that the band will arrive punctually, look slick and deliver what they say they will… you can feel confident that performance levels will never be compromised.
Yes. The band will always try and accommodate one or two requests for songs they currently don’t list on the repertoire page. Anything more than that involves a considerable amount of extra work for which there would be a supplement. Let us know what ideas you have in mind.
Yes no problem. The Milestones come totally self contained with their own sound system, which they will set up for you to use for your speeches. So you won’t have to worry about anything, except making ‘em laugh (we can’t help you with that unfortunately!).
Yes they can but we need to know more details. If the band doesn’t have their own backline and their own sound engineer there could be an additional fee in order for us to provide them with everything they need.
Yes, we can provide you with one of our great Djs to rock the dancefloor when the band is not singing . If you’re having a DJ the band would be only too happy to speak with him/her before the event and see if there are options to share equipment.
Absolutely. The band plays all over Romania, Europe and even travel as far the client whats us to sing.
Depending on your type of event, we are more than happy to make a schedule with you providing intel from our experience.
We can pencil in your request for a few days and let you know first if we have another enquiry for the same date.
Absolutely! We would advise speaking to us before the event to arrange the key and form of the song. You never know, we might already have an arrangement for you.
Only that you dance and enjoy yourselves.
Our band performs under tents often throughout each season. We have several requirements put in place to ensure safety as well as uninterrupted performances:
1) Band needs 6 x 4 m flooring if there is no raised stage or platform. Band is unable to perform directly on the ground.
2) Performance area must be in a three sided tent with available side wall flaps in case of rain.
3) Band requires a separate 32 amp circuit solely for their use. The circuit must be located within twenty-five meters of the bandstand.
4) All band equipment is on wheels. Band requires close road access or paved access to the area where they are required to set up, or a cartage fee will be applied to basic charge.
Overtime refers to extending the full band performance beyond the contracted time and it comes at an extra fee negotiated prior to the event. This is a service you can decide upon during your event. However, we suggest you contract Overtime ahead of time if possible, which allows the band to structure their performance accordingly.
